- Having a mentor – He shares his relationship with his professor Steven Covey.
- Being accountable to yourself – Setting goals and utilizing tools to remain accountable to yourself when you are your own boss.
- Scheduling in the things that are important to you – Your family, your health, your career, etc. should all get the time they deserve. I loved when Gary talked about having individual interviews with his children on a weekly basis. While I spend a lot of time with my children, I realized listening to him that I am not “checking in” with them that way. This is now my goal!
