Creating A 7 Figure Coaching Or Consulting Business

Want to have a 7 figure coaching business? In this 8 part series, I’m going to tell you the 8 reasons most coaches make an average of $35.48 per hour  and the steps you can implement to change your outcomes right now!

By reading this article series, you will have the foundation necessary to build a thriving practice on the least amount of time. These articles were written with one premise in mind: you are a great coach or consultant. If you haven’t honed and mastered your skills as a coach, practice, practice, practice. Theory and study is nice but its not the same until you start actually working with people. In fact, I have many clients that tell me after working with clients, they want to limit one to one contact. Or, if they want to do one to one contact, they want to limit it to just a few hours per week.

Recently at a retreat I held where I help the attendees break through the situations that have them stuck, one attendee discovered she has too many people in her programs and she doesn’t want to be responsible for that amount of people. She was burning out fast. We discovered when she first started working with me, she was following what her previous coach suggested by creating a group coaching program. Thus, when she started working with me and I helped her structure her program and sell it, she gained over 70 students (that’s what she calls them) fast and selling new people in everyday.

But, it was built on a false premise.

False premise: she accepted another person’s vision of her business instead of her own.

Design and Implement The 7 Figure Coaching Business You Want

Which brings me to the most important part of this series: design and implement the business you want. Take time to think about it. Hold on to your vision in EVERY decision you make going forward. Ask yourself these questions:

  1. Will this action help me reach my overall vision for my business?
  2. If it doesn’t help me achieve my overall vision for my business, why am I doing it?
  3. Does this action relieve a temporary challenge?
  4. How can I avoid this temporary challenge in the future so I can stay on course?

Protect your vision. Keep your vision on your mind daily and filter every decision through it.

A big mistake here is many people are looking at someone else and comparing what they want with what they see on the surface. I have one client who absolutely loves Lewis Howes (who wouldn’t? He is an absolute doll). Lewis has a 7 figure coaching business. But she doesn’t listen to what Lewis says. She wants Lewis’ business now without all of the things Lewis did to get there. Does that sound familiar?  Look at the person who has the business you want. Get the truthful answers of how they made his/her business successful (Lewis is pretty transparent so its very easy to ask my client are you going to put all of the hours into each platform to grow to what Lewis has attained)

For me personally, it is my vision to be fully present for my family without sacrificing my purpose and mission in the world that keeps me going in everything I do. While I think I do a great job at it, there is still a way to go. I am ok with that. Each day, I get up and know I am striving for my vision of life. Just like a ship out to sea, I course correct all of the time. I make the hard decisions when I get off track. If you are going to spend time and energy building a business, shouldn’t it be your version of success, instead of the one other people try to define for you?

I would really love to hear what you think. In the comments below (below the you may also like section), tell me the vision of your 7 figure coaching business. Get specific so you can attract the situations and opportunities to help you get there.  It’s time to become accountable to your vision. Let’s go!
